## What is wrong

Issue:

On certain trucks, the malfunction indicator for the electronic stability control \(ESC\) system could turn off even if there's a problem with the ESC system.

Safety Risk:

A driver that isn't aware of a problem with the ESC system could have an increased risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:

General Motors will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over\-the\-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the electronic brake control module software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a GM dealership.
