What is wrong
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the body seams may not have been sealed properly. As a result, water could leak into the body control module (BCM). If this happens, the front and rear side marker lights, taillights and license plate lights may not work and/or flicker.
Safety Risk:
Exterior lights that don't work and/or flicker could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the body seams for proper sealing. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the BCM.

| SSM 52248 | 2024-02-14. Service bulletin. Some 2024 Mustang vehicles are equipped with a clear protective film layer affixed to the top surface of the rear lamps. This protective film layer helps reduce incremental signs of contact and should not be removed/discarded. In the event the clear protective film layer were to become damaged or inadvertently removed, service kit (PR3Z-13420-C) has been released to help address this condition. Follow the instruction sheet included with service kit (PR3Z-13420-C) for proper installation/adhesion of the clear protective film layer to the rear lamp substrate. For claiming, use causal part 13404/13405 and M-time. |
