What is wrong
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 24S24 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-224) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
On certain vehicles, the powertrain control module (PCM) and body control module (BCM) may not detect a change in the charge level of the 12 V battery. As a result, the engine could stall. This could also cause the engine not to restart after a start-stop event and the hazard lights may not work.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of power to the wheels or a vehicle that doesn't restart after a start-stop event could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, hazard lamps that don't work could make the vehicle less visible and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the PCM and BCM software.

| SSM 55221 | 2026-10-12. Service bulletin. For 20222026 vehicles equipped with a 8F35 transmission, a revision to the Road Testing Vehicle procedure has been made in the WSM, Section 307-01 > Diagnosis and Testing. This updated procedure improves the diagnosis of customer reported transmission concerns and aids in locating the proper root cause. During diagnosis and testing, details regarding whether the condition is more prevalent when the vehicle is hot or cold, throttle percentage at the time of occurrence, vehicle speed, the specific shift involved, and whether the issue occurs during transmission engagements (N>R, N>D, R>D, and/or D>R) should be noted in the warranty claim. Engineering requests including these detailed operating conditions that will significantly assist with root cause analysis. Diagnosis, testing, and repair should use established labor times outside this article. |

| SSM 55215 | 2026-10-02. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2024 Maverick hybrid vehicles may exhibit various electrical symptoms and/or a no crank/no start condition related to an intermittent 12V battery drain that has discharged the 12V battery. This may be due to the software in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. To correct this condition, download and run the "ABS - Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module Software Update" and "ACCM - Air Conditioning Control Module (ACCM) Software Update" applications using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming use causal part 2005 and labor operations 10654C and 12651D along with MT2005SSM up to 0.7 hours for the ABS, ACCM, PCM, and SOBDMC as needed. |
