# Transport Canada recall 2024705 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: Transport Canada \(Canada\) - Campaign number: 2024705 - Manufacturer's number: 0000112900 - Reported: 2024\-11\-19 - Component: Engine - Notification type: Safety Mfr - Units potentially affected: 950 ## What is wrong Issue: This recall is for certain oil filters sold at BMW Motorrad dealerships as a replacement part for 2008 to 2024 models. This recall affects oil filter part number: 11427721779\-04. On certain motorcycles, the oil filter may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, under certain conditions, the filter could loosen and create an oil leak. Safety Risk: An oil leak near the rear tire could affect handling and control of the motorcycle. An oil leak could create a hazard for others. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, oil that leaks onto hot components could create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: BMW Motorrad will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the oil filter. ## Vehicles this campaign lists - [2008 BMW HP4](/makes/bmw/hp4/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 BMW HP4](/makes/bmw/hp4/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 BMW HP4](/makes/bmw/hp4/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 BMW HP4](/makes/bmw/hp4/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 BMW HP4](/makes/bmw/hp4/2012/recalls.md) - [2013 BMW HP4](/makes/bmw/hp4/2013/recalls.md) - [2014 BMW HP4](/makes/bmw/hp4/2014/recalls.md) - 2015 BMW HP4 - 2016 BMW HP4 - 2017 BMW HP4 - 2018 BMW HP4 - 2019 BMW HP4 - 2020 BMW HP4 - 2021 BMW HP4 - 2022 BMW HP4 - 2023 BMW HP4 - 2024 BMW HP4 - [2008 BMW HP4 RACE](/makes/bmw/hp4/2008/recalls.md).
