## What is wrong

Issue:

On certain vehicles, software problems with the powertrain control module \(PCM\) and engine control module \(ECM\) could cause the vehicle to enter a fail\-safe mode. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels.

Safety Risk:

A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:

Mazda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the PCM and ECM software.
