## What is wrong

Issue:

On certain vehicles, a previous over\-the\-air \(OTA\) software update could cause the backup lamps not to turn on when the vehicle is reversing.

Safety Risk:

Backup lamps that don't work could cause others not to recognize when a vehicle is backing up, and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the body control module software.
