What is wrong

Issue:

On certain trucks, the alternator positive cable could be damaged by contact with a fastener for the left-front spring bracket. If this happens, the cable could create a short circuit.

Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with an MX-13 engine and a 160-A alternator.

Safety Risk:

A short circuit can create the risk of a fire.

Corrective Actions:

PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your truck to a dealership to replace and relocate a fastener for the left-front spring bracket, and ensure the alternator cable is secured properly.
