What is wrong
Issue:
On a small number of trucks, the mud flap could contact and damage the fuel tank. Over time, wear on the fuel tank could result in a fuel leak.
Safety Risk:
A diesel fuel leak could create a hazard for others by making the road slippery. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to install a bracket to prevent the mud flap from contacting the fuel tank. The dealer will also inspect the fuel tank for damage, and if necessary, replace it.
