What is wrong
Issue:
On certain vehicles with the trailer tow option, a programming error in the body control module (BCM) could cause the trailer brake lamps and turn signals not to work.
Safety Risk:
Trailer lights that don't work could cause following drivers not to recognize that the vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reconfigure the body control module to include the trailer tow option.

Some customers may report that on occasion, vehicle exterior tail lamp assemblies are fogged with a light layer of condensation on the inside of the lenses. This may be reported after the lamps have been turned on and brought up to operatingtemperature, turned off, and then rapidly cooled by cold water (such as rain, or the water from a vehicle wash). Lens fogging can also occur under certain atmospheric conditions after a vehicle has been parked outside overnight (i.e., a warm humid day followed by clear cool night). This will usually clear as atmospheric conditions change to allow the condensation to change back into avapor. Turning the tail lamps on will usually accelerate this process.Clear Tail Lamp AssemblyTail Lamp Assembly with CondensationImages are not specific to vehicle, and only used for showing the tail lamps either clearFig. 1or having a condensation build up within the tail lamp assemblyFig. 2per the procedure. |
