What is wrong
Issue:
On certain vehicles, opening and closing the trunk lid could damage the wiring for the rearview camera. If this happens, the rearview camera image may not display properly when you shift to reverse. Also, there could be a problem with the connections inside the rearview camera.
Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rearview camera and/or inspect and repair the decklid wiring.

This may be due to contact between the convertible top and the tonneau covers that may be installed on the vehicle by the customer when the top is in the open position. If the tonneau covers have been installed on the vehicle, and the wear/damage is located in the area where the tonneau covers overlap the convertible top, replace the convertible top material. Refer to WSM, Section 501-18. Discard the original tonneau covers, and supply the customer with new tonneau covers, part numbers FR3Z-7631004-CB and FR3Z-7631005-CB. For claiming, use causal part 7631004 and applicable labor operations in section 12 of the service labor time standards (SLTS) manual. |
