What is wrong

Issue:

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear correctly in the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear.

Safety Risk:

A rearview camera image that does not display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:

BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the rearview camera software, if necessary.

B6304182025-07-28. Service bulletin. One or more of the LED daytime running lights are dim or discolored.
B6404222024-03-02. Service bulletin. An interference noise (groaning noise) can be heard from within the heating and air-conditioning unit in thecenter of the instrument panel. The groaning noise always occurs when either a ventilation flap, air stratification flap or the recirculated airflap moves to a different position. Due to the complex design of the heating and air-conditioning unit, the kinematics causing it (top or bottom, left or right) may not be able to be precisely located. Depending on the vehicle model, the number of servomotors (and the associated kinematics unit) varies.Various models use either 2 or 3 servomotors.
B5108192024-02-01. Service bulletin. The basic conditions for initializing the power windows are not met.
B5404212023-11-01. Service bulletin. This situation can result in two customer complaints: 1. Wind noise 2. Excess water entry
B6102202023-09-25. Service bulletin. ?When driving over uneven pavement or cobblestones, a knocking noise is present from the passenger side front area (A pillar). Once the vehicle is driven on a flat, even surface; the noise is no longer present.
B5401232023-09-25. Service bulletin. ?Water leaking into the vehicle from the headliner/microphone area.
B6502222023-09-18. Service bulletin. A check control message (CCM) for the restraint system (Air bag) appears.
B6408212023-07-24. Service bulletin. The air conditioning cycles from cold to warm air while driving or while at a stand still. The vent outlet temperatures vary by 25 degrees Fahrenheit or more (38 F to 60 F +) without changing any climate control settings.
B5117222023-06-26. Service bulletin. Due to the semiconductor supply, the Local Interconnect Network module in either of the exterior mirrors was switched to another controller. That one provides an imprecise voltage measurement, which the main controller interprets as a fault.
B5108232023-06-26. Service bulletin. Upon opening or closing (i.e., folding in or out) the exterior mirror assembly, a creaking sound is heard from either the driver and/or passenger side.

A bulletin is the manufacturer's note to its dealers. It is not part of this recall.
