## What is wrong

Issue:

On certain vehicles, the propeller shaft may not be properly attached to the intermediate bearing. As a result, the propeller shaft joint could wear out. This could cause vibrations that the airbag \(SRS\) control unit interprets as a crash and deploy the front airbags.

Safety Risk:

A sudden deployment of the front airbags without a crash could create a risk of injury. This could also startle the driver, which may lead to a crash.

Corrective Actions:

Mercedes\-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the propeller shaft and replace it, if necessary.
