## What is wrong

Issue:

On certain vehicles, the high\-pressure fuel pumps \(HPFP\) may have been attached to the cylinder head incorrectly. Over time, this could cause the flange of the HPFP to crack. This could result in a fuel leak in the engine compartment.

Safety Risk:

A fuel leak in the engine compartment could increase the risk of a fire.

Corrective Actions:

BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the high\-pressure fuel pumps.
