# Transport Canada recall 2019290 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: Transport Canada \(Canada\) - Campaign number: 2019290 - Manufacturer's number: AKB1 - Reported: 2019\-06\-12 - Component: Powertrain - Notification type: Safety Mfr - Units potentially affected: 8742 ## What is wrong Issue: On certain vehicles, the transmission shifter could detach from the transmission. This could cause the transmission not to shift gears when the shifter is moved. As a result, the transmission could be in a different gear than the gear shifter indicates. If a driver attempts to exit the vehicle while the transmission is not in Park, and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the shifter cable bushing. Owners are reminded to use the parking brake anytime the vehicle is parked. ## Vehicles this campaign lists - [2003 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2003/recalls.md) - [2004 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2004/recalls.md) - [2005 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2005/recalls.md) - [2006 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2006/recalls.md) - [2007 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 PORSCHE CAYENNE](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2010/recalls.md) - [2003 PORSCHE CAYENNE S](/makes/porsche/cayenne/2003/recalls.md).
