# Transport Canada recall 2019005 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: Transport Canada \(Canada\) - Campaign number: 2019005 - Manufacturer's number: 19S01 - Reported: 2019\-01\-08 - Component: Airbag - Notification type: Safety Mfr - Units potentially affected: 300898 ## What is wrong Issue: On certain vehicles, long\-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger\-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the passenger\-front airbag inflator replaced. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected. Additional note: This recall supersedes recalls 2016\-347 \(Ford Safety Improvement Program 16S26\), 2017\-024 \(Ford Recall 17S01\) and 2018\-035 \(Ford Recall 18S01\). Vehicles repaired under the previous recalls do not require repair under this recall. ## Vehicles this campaign lists - [2007 FORD EDGE](/makes/ford/edge/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 FORD EDGE](/makes/ford/edge/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 FORD EDGE](/makes/ford/edge/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 FORD EDGE](/makes/ford/edge/2010/recalls.md) - [2006 FORD FUSION](/makes/ford/fusion/2006/recalls.md) - [2007 FORD FUSION](/makes/ford/fusion/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 FORD FUSION](/makes/ford/fusion/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 FORD FUSION](/makes/ford/fusion/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 FORD FUSION](/makes/ford/fusion/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 FORD FUSION](/makes/ford/fusion/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 FORD FUSION](/makes/ford/fusion/2012/recalls.md) - [2005 FORD GT](/makes/ford/gt/2005/recalls.md) - [2006 FORD GT](/makes/ford/gt/2006/recalls.md) - [2005 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2005/recalls.md) - [2006 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2006/recalls.md) - [2007 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2012/recalls.md) - [2013 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2013/recalls.md) - [2014 FORD MUSTANG](/makes/ford/mustang/2014/recalls.md) - [2007 FORD RANGER](/makes/ford/ranger/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 FORD RANGER](/makes/ford/ranger/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 FORD RANGER](/makes/ford/ranger/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 FORD RANGER](/makes/ford/ranger/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 FORD RANGER](/makes/ford/ranger/2011/recalls.md) - 2006 LINCOLN MKX - [2007 LINCOLN MKX](/makes/lincoln/mkx/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 LINCOLN MKX](/makes/lincoln/mkx/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 LINCOLN MKX](/makes/lincoln/mkx/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 LINCOLN MKX](/makes/lincoln/mkx/2010/recalls.md) - [2007 LINCOLN MKZ](/makes/lincoln/mkz/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 LINCOLN MKZ](/makes/lincoln/mkz/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 LINCOLN MKZ](/makes/lincoln/mkz/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 LINCOLN MKZ](/makes/lincoln/mkz/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 LINCOLN MKZ](/makes/lincoln/mkz/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 LINCOLN MKZ](/makes/lincoln/mkz/2012/recalls.md) - [2006 LINCOLN ZEPHYR](/makes/lincoln/zephyr/2006/recalls.md) - [2006 MERCURY MILAN](/makes/mercury/milan/2006/recalls.md) - [2007 MERCURY MILAN](/makes/mercury/milan/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 MERCURY MILAN](/makes/mercury/milan/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 MERCURY MILAN](/makes/mercury/milan/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 MERCURY MILAN](/makes/mercury/milan/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 MERCURY MILAN](/makes/mercury/milan/2011/recalls.md) ## Bulletins for the same vehicles and component A bulletin is the manufacturer's note to its dealers.
