What is wrong
On one vehicle, an engine software update may have been performed incorrectly, causing diagnostic trouble codes to not be stored when the ignition key is turned off. If a fault was present, this could cause the warning lamp not to light when the engine is next started. This could create a situation where the driver is not provided with important information about vehicle safety systems, which may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will update the engine software. Note: This recall is superseded by recall 2019328.
