- Campaign number: 2018574
- Manufacturer's number: U94
- Reported: 2018\-10\-19
- Component: Engine
- Notification type: Safety Mfr
- Units potentially affected: 1208

## What is wrong

On certain Plug\-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles \(PHEV\), during auto start, the engine may experience a mis\-synchronization, which could cause overheating of the catalytic converter. This could potentially lead to a vehicle fire and/or a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the power control module \(PCM\) software to detect and correct the engine mis\-synchronization and will inspect the catalytic converter and replace it if necessary.
