# Transport Canada recall 2017583 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: Transport Canada \(Canada\) - Campaign number: 2017583 - Manufacturer's number: FL\-756 - Reported: 2017\-11\-28 - Component: Brakes - Notification type: Safety Mfr - Units potentially affected: 41763 ## What is wrong On certain vehicles with air brakes, after several hard brake applications, the brake light pressure switch may not activate the brake lights with a light application of the brake pedal. If the brake lights do not illuminate, following road users would be unaware of the intent of the driver to slow the vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities will repair the brake light pressure switch. ## Vehicles this campaign lists - [2008 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2012/recalls.md) - [2013 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2013/recalls.md) - [2014 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2014/recalls.md) - [2015 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2015/recalls.md) - [2016 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2016/recalls.md) - [2017 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2017/recalls.md) - [2018 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA](/makes/freightliner/cascadia/2018/recalls.md) - [2008 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2012/recalls.md) - [2013 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2013/recalls.md) - [2014 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2014/recalls.md) - [2015 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2015/recalls.md) - [2016 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2016/recalls.md) - [2017 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2017/recalls.md) - [2018 WESTERN STAR 4700](/makes/western-star/4700/2018/recalls.md) - [2008 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2012/recalls.md) - [2013 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2013/recalls.md) - [2014 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2014/recalls.md) - [2015 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2015/recalls.md) - [2016 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2016/recalls.md) - [2017 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2017/recalls.md) - [2018 WESTERN STAR 4900](/makes/western-star/4900/2018/recalls.md) - [2008 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2012/recalls.md) - [2013 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2013/recalls.md) - [2014 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2014/recalls.md) - [2015 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2015/recalls.md) - [2016 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2016/recalls.md) - [2017 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2017/recalls.md) - [2018 WESTERN STAR 5700](/makes/western-star/5700/2018/recalls.md) - [2008 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2009/recalls.md) - [2010 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2010/recalls.md) - [2011 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2011/recalls.md) - [2012 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2012/recalls.md) - [2013 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2013/recalls.md) - [2014 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2014/recalls.md) - [2015 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2015/recalls.md) - [2016 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2016/recalls.md) - [2017 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2017/recalls.md) - [2018 WESTERN STAR 6900](/makes/western-star/6900/2018/recalls.md) ## Bulletins for the same vehicles and component A bulletin is the manufacturer's note to its dealers.
