What is wrong

Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 301 – Fuel System Integrity. During rear impact crash testing, the fuel filler pipe ruptured, causing fuel spillage exceeding the limit specified by the standard. As a result, a collision involving the rear of the vehicle could result in a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will remove a bolt on the left rear side member attaching the bracket to the fuel filler pipe. This will change the load path during a rear crash impact preventing filler pipe rupture.

SA-023-262026-05-04. Service bulletin. This Service Alert supersedes the previously issued M-Tip(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red text. MT-003/22 03/02/22 DESCRIPTION Some customers may complain about a tapping or knocking noise coming from the rear seat after fuel fill. The concern will likely occur if the fuel tank is overfilled (more fuel is added after the fuel pump nozzle shuts off automatically) or filled up normally in high ambient temperatures and the fuel expands. No repair is needed. Explain to the customer not to continue filling after nozzle shut off.

MT-002-21a2021-10-31. Service bulletin. Ethanol is becoming a common additive in gasoline. Gasoline containing ethanol is likely available at your local gasoline station. Typical blends of ethanol include E10 and E85. E10: A blend of 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline. E85: A blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline All Mazda vehicles can run on gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol (E10) but only some 1999-2001 B3000 trucks can run on gasoline with more than 10% ethanol blended. E10 compatible vehicles: All Mazda vehicles. E85 compatible vehicles: 1999-2001 B3000 Mazda trucks with the 8th VIN digit is V.
03-002-17-33942021-03-08. Service bulletin. Some vehicles may exhibit an oil leak from the companion flange area (A) of the transfer unit. This concern may be caused by companion flange oil seal wear. The oil seal has been improved to increase the wear resistance.
00-003-19-35832019-03-21. Service bulletin. In support of the new MRT distribution, Mazda will ship to dealers a new Dual Purpose Diagnostic Leak Detector beginning March, 2019. Training videos will be posted to MGSS shortly and Workshop Manual procedures will be revised gradually.
01-005-18-34152018-05-07. Service bulletin. Some vehicles may experience a rough idle with the check engine light on and DTC P0015 / P0524 stored in memory. P0015:00 - Exhaust CMP timing over-retarded P0524:00 - Engine oil pressure too low This is caused by a drop in engine oil pressure due to a piece of foreign object stuck on the oil pump pressure relief valve or oil control valve (OCV). The temporary entry of the foreign object triggers a check engine light on, but rough idle will not be produced until a later time.
RF-16-03R12018-04-23. Service bulletin. The SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T engine requires a unique oil filter (PY8W-14-302) which is NOT interchangeable with other SKYACTIV® oil filters. The unique oil filter can be identified with two white bands as shown below.
09-048-14-29752017-05-11. Service bulletin. SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMPLAIN THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY AND/OR THE DISTANCE-TO-EMPTY ON THE MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY (MID) INDICATES “0” WITH A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF FUEL REMAINING IN THE TANK.THIS MAY BE A NORMAL OPERATION OF THE FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION:1.IF FOREIGN MATERIAL (CONTAINED IN A POOR-QUALITY FUEL) ADHERES TO THE FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT, THE FAIL-SAFE FUNC-TION INITIATES BY FORCING THE FUEL GAUGE AND THE DISTANCE-TO-EMPTY TO INDICATE “ZERO FUEL AMOUNT”.2.IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FOREIGN MATERIAL IS DISLODGED BY SHAKING OF THE FUEL DURING DRIVING OR REFUELING, THE FUEL GAUGE WILL RETURN TO A NORMAL READING, BUT THE DISTANCE-TO-EMPTY WILL CONTINUE TO READ “0” UNTIL THE NEXT REFUEL-ING OF 3 US GALLONS (10 LITERS) OR MORE.TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THE FOLLOWING CHANGE HAS BEEN MADE:1.THERE IS NO MASS-PRODUCTION CHANGE TO PREVENT ADHESION OF FOREIGN MATERIAL TO THE FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT. SO THE FACT REMAINS UNCHANGED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE AND THE DISTANCE-TO-EMPTY INDICATE “ZERO FUEL AMOUNT” WHEN FOREIGN MATERIAL ADHERES TO THE FUEL GAUGE SENDER UNIT, AND THE FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION INITIATES.2.TO EQUALIZE THE RECOVERY TIMING FROM THE FAIL-SAFE MODE, THE LOGIC HAS BEEN CHANGED SO THAT THE DISTANCE-TO-EMPTY RECOVERS FROM “0” TO A NORMAL READING IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FOREIGN MATERIAL IS DISLODGED (AT THE SAME TIME AS THE FUEL GAUGE).

09-014-16-3132A2017-02-08. Service bulletin. SOME VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH LED OR DISCHARGE TYPE HEADLIGHTS MAY EXHIBIT WHITE MILKY STAINS ON THE INNER SUR-FACE OF THE HEADLIGHT LENS. SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMPLAIN OF THE POOR APPEARANCE. THIS CONCERN IS CAUSED BY GAS THAT EMITS FROM A GASKET IN THE LAMP UNIT. THE GAS ADHERES TO THE INNER SURFACE OF THE HEADLIGHT LENS AND REACTS WITH THE ANTI-CLOUDING COATING AND MOISTURE IN THE AIR TO CREATE WHITE MILKY STAINS. THE GASKET MATERIAL HAS BEEN IMPROVED TO ELIMINATE THIS CONCERN.

A bulletin is the manufacturer's note to its dealers. It is not part of this recall.
