# Transport Canada recall 2010189 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: Transport Canada \(Canada\) - Campaign number: 2010189 - Manufacturer's number: 10153 - Reported: 2010\-06\-07 - Component: Accessories - Notification type: Safety Mfr - Units potentially affected: 99000 ## What is wrong On certain vehicles equipped with a Heated Washer Fluid System \(HWFS\), a short circuit on the printed circuit board for the washer fluid heater may overheat the control\-circuit ground wire. A repair was implemented in a recall in 2008, however, there have been new reports of thermal incidents on heated washer fluid system modules after this improvement was installed. This situation may cause some minor distortion, but also could lead to melting of the plastic around the heated washer fluid system, or cause a fire. Correction: Dealers will permanently disable and remove the heated washer fluid module. An updated page will be provided and inserted in the Owner Manual to document the removal of the feature. ## Vehicles this campaign lists - [2008 BUICK ENCLAVE](/makes/buick/enclave/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 BUICK ENCLAVE](/makes/buick/enclave/2009/recalls.md) - [2006 BUICK LUCERNE](/makes/buick/lucerne/2006/recalls.md) - [2007 BUICK LUCERNE](/makes/buick/lucerne/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 BUICK LUCERNE](/makes/buick/lucerne/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 BUICK LUCERNE](/makes/buick/lucerne/2009/recalls.md) - [2008 CADILLAC CTS](/makes/cadillac/cts/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 CADILLAC CTS](/makes/cadillac/cts/2009/recalls.md) - [2006 CADILLAC DTS](/makes/cadillac/dts/2006/recalls.md) - [2007 CADILLAC DTS](/makes/cadillac/dts/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 CADILLAC DTS](/makes/cadillac/dts/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 CADILLAC DTS](/makes/cadillac/dts/2009/recalls.md) - [2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE](/makes/cadillac/escalade/2007/recalls.md) - [2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE](/makes/cadillac/escalade/2008/recalls.md) - [2009 CADILLAC ESCALADE](/makes/cadillac/escalade/2009/recalls.md) - [2007 CADILLAC ESCALADE ESV](/makes/cadillac/escalade/2007/recalls.md).
