# Transport Canada recall 2004085

A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

- Published by: Transport Canada \(Canada\)
- Campaign number: 2004085
- Manufacturer's number: FL\-422
- Reported: 2004\-03\-08
- Component: Steering
- Notification type: Safety Mfr
- Units potentially affected: 80

## What is wrong

On certain vehicles, the TRW drag link clamp assembly may contain an improperly torqued hex nut. If the final tightening of this nut is less than 65 ft.lbs, the clamp load would be unacceptably low and could compromise the integrity of the drag link to the point where the ball socket could separate causing a loss of steering control which could result in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealer will re\-torque the drag link nut to between 70 and 85 ft.lbs.
