# Transport Canada recall 2000080 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: Transport Canada \(Canada\) - Campaign number: 2000080 - Manufacturer's number: 00007 - Reported: 2000\-03\-21 - Component: Accessories - Notification type: Safety TC - Units potentially affected: 200580 ## What is wrong On certain vehicles operated in areas of high salt use, the spare tire hoist cable may corrode and eventually break. This would allow the spare tire to fall off the vehicle possibly resulting in a road hazard for other vehicles. Correction: A letter will be sent to owners of affected vehicles with maintenance and inspection instructions for spare tire hoist cable assemblies. Additionally, the letter will advise the owner that, if the cable breaks during that inspection, their dealer will repair the assembly. This policy will be in effect until December 31, 2002. ## Vehicles this campaign lists - 1989 CHEVROLET ASTRO - 1990 CHEVROLET ASTRO - 1991 CHEVROLET ASTRO - 1992 CHEVROLET ASTRO - 1989 CHEVROLET C SERIES - 1990 CHEVROLET C SERIES - 1991 CHEVROLET C SERIES - 1992 CHEVROLET C SERIES - 1993 CHEVROLET C SERIES - 1994 CHEVROLET C SERIES - 1995 CHEVROLET C SERIES - [1990 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina-apv/1990/recalls.md) - [1991 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina-apv/1991/recalls.md) - [1992 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina-apv/1992/recalls.md) - [1993 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina-apv/1993/recalls.md) - [1994 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina-apv/1994/recalls.md) - [1995 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina-apv/1995/recalls.md) - [1996 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina-apv/1996/recalls.md) - [1997 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV](/makes/chevrolet/lumina/1997/recalls.md).
