What is wrong
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2025 Ranger vehicles. The instrument panel top cover may prevent the passenger air bag from deploying as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
What can happen
An air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will replace the instrument panel assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 26, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C54. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 14, 2025.

| SSM 55118 | 2026-09-01. Service bulletin. Some of the following vehicles: * 2023-2025 F-Super Duty built on or before 02-Feb-2025 * 2024-2026 Ranger/Bronco/Mustang * 2024-2025 F-150 built on or before 15-Jul-2025 * 2024-2025 Nautilus built on or before 16-Feb-2025 * 2025 Explorer/Aviator built on or before 01-Feb-2025 may exhibit all of the following symptoms: - "No Key Detected" message displayed on the instrument panel cluster (IPC). - Key fob does not work in the backup slot. - Remote keyless entry (RKE) (lock and unlock from the key fob) functionality will work to lock/unlock the vehicle. If the vehicle exhibits these symptoms, start the vehicle using both key fobs. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" concern is present, reprogram both key fobs and retest. If the no crank/no start condition with "No Key Detected" is still present, replace the body control module (BCM). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-10. | SSM 55113 | 2026-09-01. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2025 Ranger vehicles equipped with a cargo box power point plug may exhibit a condition where all interior/exterior power outlets/plugs are inoperative with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1330:9A stored in the body control module (BCM). This may be due to an inoperative light emitting diode (LED) in the cargo box power point plug. To correct the condition, replace the cargo box power point plug (service base part number 19A464). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-05 > Removal and Installation > Alternating Current (AC) Power Outlet Socket > Cargo Box Power Point Plug. | SSM 54601 | 2026-02-27. Service bulletin. Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module (BCM). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is not available, the "Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide" can be referenced and provides direction on how to retrieve the master code. This guide is located under the Workshop Manual tab > Accessories > Installation > Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide > PPT C > Step C2.<br /><br /> Note: The only available keypad for some vehicles from the assembly plant is the accessory wireless keyless entry keypad. The integrated wired keypad cannot be installed on vehicles not equipped from the factory with a wired keyless entry k |
| TSB 25-2621 | 2026-02-17. Service bulletin. Some vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a no crank/no start condition where the customer cannot start their vehicle. | SSM 53979 | 2025-07-02. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2025 Ranger vehicles may exhibit a "Check Charging System" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U012D, U0284, and/or U042E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to corrosion found in the active grille shutter lower connector (C1767). If no corrosion is found in this connector, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-00 for normal diagnostics. If corrosion is found, replace the connector and active grille shutter (AGS) actuator (base part number: 10884). To aid in engineering investigation, when removing the corroded connector cut the wires about 3 inches (76 mm) from the connector to ensure adequate wire is left for analysis. If the corrosion condition is encountered, use the "Submit Global Concern Report (GCR)" link at the upper right of the Vehicle ID tab to submit a report and reference this article number in the report.
