# NHTSA recall 25V282000 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: NHTSA \(United States\) - Campaign number: 25V282000 - Manufacturer's number: R10320 - Manufacturer: Volvo Car USA, LLC - Reported: 2025\-05\-08 - Owners notified: 2025\-06\-27 - Component: BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE - Units potentially affected: 413151 ## What is wrong Volvo Car USA, LLC \(Volvo Car\) is recalling certain 2021\-2025 XC40, 2022 V90, 2022\-2025 S90, V90CC, C40, XC60, 2023\-2025 S60, V60, V60CC, XC90, and 2025 EC40 and EX40 vehicles. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility." ## What can happen A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. ## The remedy The software will be updated by a dealer or through an over\-the\-air \(OTA\) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1\-800\-458\-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10320. ## Notes Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1\-888\-327\-4236 \(TTY 1\-800\-424\-9153\), or go to www.nhtsa.gov. ## Remedy progress the manufacturer reported - Report: Quarterly report 5, for 2026 quarter 2 - Filed with NHTSA: 2026\-07\-28 - Vehicles in the campaign: 413151 - Reported remedied: 392198 \(94%\) - Reported unreachable: 0 - Reported removed: 822 These are the manufacturer's totals for the whole campaign at the end of 2026 quarter 2, as filed with NHTSA.
