What is wrong
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019 Cadillac XTS vehicles. The front seat belt buckles may be missing a rivet that secures the buckle head to the cable mounting strap.
What can happen
If the securing rivet is missing, the buckle may separate from the cable mounting strap in the event of a crash, preventing the occupant from being properly restrained, thereby increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front seat buckle assemblies, replacing them if the rivets are missing, free of charge. The recall began February 7, 2019. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N182204040.

| N192269770 | 2019-12-30. Service bulletin. N192269770 - Service Update. Certain vehicles may have the driver side front seatbelt intermediate guide not properly installed into the B-Pillar. When this happens, the intermediate guide may become disengaged from the pillar. A loose intermediate guide may produce a metal to metal sound while allowing the seatbelt webbing to retract or while driving, as the intermediate guide contacts the seatbelt assembly webbing guide at the bottom of the B-Pillar. It is unlikely that the loose intermediate guide would affect the proper operation of the seatbelt assembly. Dealers are to inspect to ensure proper installation of the seatbelt guide loop. |
A bulletin is the manufacturer's note to its dealers. It is not part of this recall.
