# NHTSA recall 16V486000 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: NHTSA \(United States\) - Campaign number: 16V486000 - Manufacturer's number: IK3350 - Manufacturer: Vermeer Manufacturing Company - Reported: 2016\-06\-27 - Owners notified: 2016\-10\-14 - Component: PARKING BRAKE - Units potentially affected: 254 ## What is wrong Vermeer Manufacturing Company \(Vermeer\) is recalling certain model year 2014\-2016 DT6, HG4000, HC6000, HG8000, TG5000, TG7000 and WC2300XL, 2014\-2015 TG9000 and 2015\-2016 WC2500XL trailers, equipped with certain Bendix SR5 spring brake valves. These valves may have been improperly machined which may cause a delay of application of the spring brakes while parking. ## What can happen If there is a delay of the spring brake application, the trailer may roll away after it has decoupled from the tractor, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. ## The remedy Vermeer will contact owners and provide a remedy kit, complete with instructions, to repair any affected SR\-5 trailer relay valves, free of charge. Vermeer issued an interim notification to owners on August 19, 2016. The recall began on October 14, 2016. Owners may contact Vermeer Customer Service Department at 1\-641\-628\-3141. Vermeer's number for this recall is IK3350. ## Notes Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1\-888\-327\-4236 \(TTY 1\-800\-424\-9153\), or go to www.safercar.gov. ## Remedy progress the manufacturer reported - Report: Quarterly report 6, for 2018 quarter 1 - Filed with NHTSA: 2018\-04\-18 - Vehicles in the campaign: 254 - Reported remedied: 222 \(87%\) - Reported unreachable: 1 - Reported removed: 0 These are the manufacturer's totals for the whole campaign at the end of 2018 quarter 1, as filed with NHTSA.
