# NHTSA recall 15V519000 A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: NHTSA \(United States\) - Campaign number: 15V519000 - Manufacturer's number: 14291 - Manufacturer: General Motors LLC - Reported: 2015\-08\-14 - Owners notified: 2016\-05\-17 - Component: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS - Units potentially affected: 429170 ## What is wrong General Motors LLC \(GM\) is recalling certain model year 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006\-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006\-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL, 2006\-2008 Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9\-7x vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the headlamp driver module \(HDM\) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to not illuminate. ## What can happen Headlamps that do not illuminate reduce the driver's ability to see the roadway and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash. ## The remedy GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the HDM, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1\-800\-521\-7300 or Pontiac customer service at 1\-800\-762\-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14291. ## Notes Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1\-888\-327\-4236 \(TTY 1\-800\-424\-9153\), or go to www.safercar.gov. ## Remedy progress the manufacturer reported - Report: Quarterly report 6, for 2017 quarter 3 - Filed with NHTSA: 2017\-10\-09 - Vehicles in the campaign: 429170 - Reported remedied: 200381 \(46%\) - Reported unreachable: 41 - Reported removed: 37596 These are the manufacturer's totals for the whole campaign at the end of 2017 quarter 3, as filed with NHTSA.
