Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups. - Published by: NHTSA \(United States\) - Campaign number: 14V494000 - Manufacturer: Vanair Manufacturing, Inc. - Reported: 2014\-08\-08 - Owners notified: 2014\-11\-04 - Component: EQUIPMENT - Units potentially affected: 49 ## What is wrong Vanair Manufacturing, Inc. \(Vanair\) is recalling certain model year 2009\-2013 Ford F\-350, F\-450, and F\-550 SuperDuty chassis modified by Vanair and equipped with certain Muncie Power Products PTO Assemblies used with model 60\-85 UDSM, 125\-185 USDM, and Genair 125\-185 driven air compressor systems. In the affected vehicles, oil may leak from the PTO pressure switch onto a thermal blanket covering the exhaust. ## What can happen The leaking oil may soak into the thermal blanket covering the exhaust, which when combined with heat from exhaust, may result in an increased risk of fire. ## The remedy Vanair will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and install a new pressure switch kit that moves the switch away from the exhaust system, free of charge. The recall began in November 2014.
