- [14V550000](/recalls/nhtsa/14V550000.md), 2014-09-10: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA \(Yamaha\) is recalling certain model year 2014 Yamaha FZ09 motorcycles manufactured August 1, 2013, to August 29, 2014. The affected motorcycles may have a headlight harness that is too short and when the handlebars are turned fully to the left or right the harness may break near the coupler or coupler may disconnect from the headlight bulb. Built 2013\-08\-01 to 2014\-08\-29.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2017214](/recalls/tc/2017214.md), 2017-04-13: Structure. On certain motorcycles, the lower handlebar holder may have been painted improperly, and fasteners may not have had sufficient thread locking compound applied. Excessive paint thickness could allow clearance to develop as paint wears, and bolts could loosen. As a result, the handlebar holder could separate from the handlebar crown, which would result in a loss of control and a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace lower handlebar holders. Note: In the interim, owners are advised to stop riding their motorcycles until the defect has been repaired.
- [2014408](/recalls/tc/2014408.md), 2014-09-18: Electrical. On certain motorcycles, the headlight lead wire can be stretched when handlebars are turned fully to the left or right. This could result in a loss of headlamp illumination by the headlight coupler disconnecting from the headlight bulb, or the headlight lead wire breaking near the coupler. Loss of headlamp illumination, should it occur during a rainy day, or during hours of darkness, could compromise the rider's ability to see the road and its users, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will add a headlight bulb sub\-lead harness to provide proper lead wire length.
