New Canadian regulations require that, if a vehicle has dash backlighting, the low beam headlamps and tail lamps must automatically switch on when it is dark or the tail lamps must stay on at all times. Safety Risk: Driving without tail lamps in low light conditions could make the truck less visible and increase the risk of a crash. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the tie rod clamp nuts and bolts.
- [2021219](/recalls/tc/2021219.md), 2021-04-12: Steering. Issue: On certain trucks, the tie rod arm and steering arm bolts may be defective and could break. - [2021172](/recalls/tc/2021172.md), 2021-03-24: Electrical. Issue: On certain trucks, an undersized wire in the ground circuit harness could overheat and melt a connector. If this happens, the engine may stall and you may not be able to restart it. Safety Risk: A loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to an authorized DTNA Service Facility to replace the ground wire harness.
