If this happens, there could be electrical arcing \(sparks\). Note: This recall replaces FL\-766 \(Transport Canada Recall 2018\-190\). If your truck was inspected as a part of that recall, but the pass\-through power stud was not replaced, your truck requires this repair. Safety Risk: Electrical arcing could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the pass\-through power stud.
- [2020488](/recalls/tc/2020488.md), 2020-10-16: Powertrain. Issue: On certain trucks equipped with an Eaton automated manual transmission and electronic clutch actuator \(ECA\), a component within the clutch assembly could fail. If this happens, the broken clutch components could prevent the transmission from disengaging or shifting to neutral. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, even if the parking brake is applied. Note: This recall replaces FL\-803 \(Transport Canada recall 2018\-714\). Trucks that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could create a risk of injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the clutch and update the transmission software.
- [2019552](/recalls/tc/2019552.md), 2019-11-04: Structure. Issue: On certain trucks, the strut\-rod for the sleeper cab vent windows may not be properly attached. This could cause the vent window to over rotate and detach from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A window that separates from a moving vehicle could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Daimler Trucks of North America authorized service facility to replace the vent windows.
- [2019508](/recalls/tc/2019508.md), 2019-10-10: Structure. Issue: On certain trucks, the baggage and/or sleeper side doors may not be properly attached to their hinges. This could cause the door\(s\) to detach while driving. Safety Risk: A baggage and/or sleeper side door that falls from the truck could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America \(DTNA\) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a DTNA authorized service facility to install two reinforcement clips on each baggage and sleeper door hinge.
- [2019237](/recalls/tc/2019237.md), 2019-05-17: Brakes. Issue: Certain trucks were built with air reservoir tanks that are too small in relation to the size of the air brake chambers. Canadian regulations require enough air reservoir capacity to ensure the brakes work even with heavy use or when there is a partial loss of the air system. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their truck to a Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facility to modify the truck to ensure it meets Canadian regulations.
- [2018719](/recalls/tc/2018719.md), 2018-12-20: Steering. On certain vehicles, the bolts that join the steering and tie rod arm to the steering knuckle may not have been properly tightened. This could lead to a separation of the tie rod arm and cause a loss of steering control. This could create a risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America Authorized Service Facilities will inspect the steering and tie rod arm bolts to ensure they are torqued correctly and install new fasteners as necessary.
- [2018714](/recalls/tc/2018714.md), 2018-12-19: Powertrain. This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2020\-488. On certain vehicles equipped with an Eaton automated manual transmission and electronic clutch actuator \(ECA\), an internal component within the clutch assembly may have been manufactured improperly and could fail. If this occurs, the broken clutch components could prevent the transmission from disengaging or shifting to neutral. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, even if the parking brake is applied, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Authorized Service Facilities will recalibrate the Transmission Control Module \(TCM\) and replace components as necessary.
- [2018469](/recalls/tc/2018469.md), 2018-08-31: Fuel System. On certain trucks built with a Cummins X15 or ISX15 engine equipped with nylon fuel lines and a banjo bolt on the fuel pump, a blockage in the fuel cooling system may cause a fuel line to burst. This could result in a significant fuel leak onto the roadway, which would create a road hazard for other motorists. Additionally, this condition could also cause an engine stall without warning, without the ability to restart the engine. Both of these conditions may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Cummins\-authorized dealers will replace the affected nylon line with a steel line.
- [2018285](/recalls/tc/2018285.md), 2018-05-30: Brakes. On certain vehicles equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. This could result in the caliper bolts loosening, which could lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness, which would result in increased stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Service Facilities will inspect the bolts, and repair as necessary. Note: This recall supersedes recall 2017\-580. Vehicles repaired as part of the previous recall will require re\-inspection and repair.
- [2018283](/recalls/tc/2018283.md), 2018-05-29: Brakes. Certain vehicles built with front disc brakes and a Lomax hood may not have enough clearance between the hood and the front brake hose. This could cause chafing of the brake hose, which could lead to an air leak resulting in reduced brake effectiveness and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Authorized dealers will replace the front brake hose. Note: A leaking front brake hose may not be detectable during a routine pre\-trip inspection.
- [2017583](/recalls/tc/2017583.md), 2017-11-28: Brakes. On certain vehicles with air brakes, after several hard brake applications, the brake light pressure switch may not activate the brake lights with a light application of the brake pedal. If the brake lights do not illuminate, following road users would be unaware of the intent of the driver to slow the vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities will repair the brake light pressure switch.
- [2017407](/recalls/tc/2017407.md), 2017-08-24: Suspension. On certain vehicles, the front axle weight limit may be greater than the front spring capacities. If the axle load exceeds the maximum weight capacity of the springs, the springs could fatigue and potentially lead to the front axle separating from the vehicle. This would result in a loss of vehicle control, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities will replace the front axle springs.
- [2017358](/recalls/tc/2017358.md), 2017-07-18: Fuel System. On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins ISX 15 engines and certain fuel pumps, the drive gear on the fuel pump may spin loose on the drive shaft. This could result in a loss of pumping function, which could result in an engine stall without warning and not being able to be restarted, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Cummins\-authorized dealers will replace the fuel pump.
- [2017130](/recalls/tc/2017130.md), 2017-03-10: Brakes. On certain vehicles outfitted with triple compartment aluminium air tanks, the end caps of the tanks may have received incomplete welds during manufacturing. If a weld were to separate on the tanks, it would result in a rapid loss of air pressure, which could cause reduced brake performance, or unexpected application of the parking brakes, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the affected tanks with triple compartment steel air tanks.
