TJ32958.5.0-20192019-12-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. This is a Technical Journal: A whining or rattling sound may appear when revving up the engine. ( see attached sample files ). The sound may come from the balance shaft which is fitted in the oil sump area where the noise is most concentrated. A new design of the balance shaft is planned to be introduced 2018-Q2. Replace the balance shaft according the instructions in VIDA. Note: It's extremely important to adjust the new balance shaft with the correct tools according the instructions otherwise the sound may occur again in a short mileage.

When this happens the CCD and the center area of the DIM will go blank for a few moments and then start back up as if the vehicle has just been started up.
