- [08V329000](/recalls/nhtsa/08V329000.md), 2008-07-23: STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS. VOLVO IS RECALLING MY 2008\-2009 VEHICLES.  A SECTION OF THE POWER STEERING RETURN LINE HOSE WAS NOT PROPERLY VULCANIZED \(CURED\) AND DOES NOT MEET SPECIFICATIONS.  IF THE POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE FAILS, A SUDDEN RUPTURE OF THE HOSE CAN OCCUR. Built 2008\-04\-14 to 2008\-05\-27.
- [08V197000](/recalls/nhtsa/08V197000.md), 2008-04-28: STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS. VOLVO IS RECALLING 7 MY 2008 V50 PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ROOF RAILS.  BOLTS HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE OUT OF SPECIFICATION.  THIS HAS CAUSED LESS TREAD LENGTH ON THE BOLTS WHICH IN TURN HAS LEAD TO INSUFFICIENT CLAMPING FORCE IN THE JOINT DUE TO THE WASHER GETTING STUCK WHEN TIGHTENING THE BOLTS. Built 2008\-02\-11 to 2008\-03\-11.

On certain vehicles, there is a possibility of overheating issues of batteries in the Garmin nüvi® 760 when certain batteries manufactured within a limited date code range are used in certain Garmin nüvi® 760 models with a specific printed circuit board \(PCB\) design.  The interaction of these factors can, in some circumstances, increase the possibility of overheating, which may lead to a fire.  Correction: Dealers will direct customers who have an affected unit to the Garmin Web site, which explains how to verify if their units are involved and includes procedures to follow for product exchange.
- [2008260](/recalls/tc/2008260.md), 2008-07-18: Steering. On certain vehicles, an improperly manufactured power steering return hose may suddenly rupture, causing a fluid leak.  An unexpected loss of steering power assist may result in a vehicle crash.  Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the power steering return line assembly.
