The door lock cylinder does not disarm the alarm. The lock cylinder in the door is meant to be used as an emergency entry, therefore the key must be inserted into the ignition within 15-30 seconds of opening the door (dependent on vehicle and equipment), in order to disarm the alarm.

Failure to deactivate factory mode will create a concern where the door locks will not lock and/or unlock with the switch and/or the remotes.
