| Dealer Letter - | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP COMMUNICATION (Service Action 20T8 Install Misfueling Guard): Volkswagen has received feedback from some vehicle owners in localized areas who have concerns about their ability to refuel their vehicle after the 20T8 Service Action was performed. A few customers have advised that they are unable to fuel their vehicle at their preferred fueling stations or that it now takes a very long time to refuel. Volkswagen believes the root cause is attributed to damage and/or variances in diesel fuel nozzles found at fueling stations. At this time, Volkswagen has no evidence to conclude that there is any problem with the misfueling guard. Dealers should continue performing Service Action 20T8 on vehicles that show the code open in ElsaWeb. In discussing this action with customers, Volkswagen encourages to utilize the talking points in this document. |
| Campaign Circula | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Service Action Campaign (Certain 2009-2012 Model Year Vehicles with TDI Clean Diesel Engine Install Misfueling Guard): As diesel engine passenger vehicles become more popular, auto manufacturers have seen an increase in the number of misfueling cases where diesel engine vehicles are mistakenly fueled with gasoline. The resulting fuel system contamination can lead to costly repairs that are not covered under warranty. The corrective action taken for this issue was installing a misfueling guard in the fuel filler neck of vehicles. |
