TT9214022023-06-13. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER. The indicator lamp in the I.P. for washer fluid remains illuminated and the washer reservoir is full. Validate the washer reservoir is full with the proper washer solvent (G-052-164). Refer to Elsa for proper fluid type and fluid quantities under repair manual, maintenance, fluid capacity table. If the fluid is not blue in color, drain the fluid, remove the sensor and clean with cleaner (D-009-401-04) or equivalent. Reinstall the sensor, top off washer reservoir with proper fluid and validate that the indicator lamp in the I.P. is no longer illuminated.
TT9114022023-06-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. The Apple iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5s, as well as the iPad 4th generation and iPod Nano 7th generation use a proprietary ?Lightning? connector that is different than the 30-pin dock connector found on previous iPhone and iPad/iPod models.
TT9113062023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If the radio is switching to the Bluetooth audio selection whenever a paired phone makes any sound, such as typing or an incoming email or text message, check the BT-Audio Autoplay setting in the Media Setup menu as shown below. If BT-Audio Autoplay is on (checked), switch selection off and retest for concern. If radio software is 0016 or 0007, radio may require software update as per TB 91-13-05 (2031136) to allow BT-Audio Autoplay to switch off.

TT9112142023-06-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. When performing UPDATE 91J7, ensure SD card labeled PREM8 RADIO SW08 is used. If SD card labeled RCD510SW0043 from TB 91-12-11 (2023500) is used, radio will become inoperative and will require replacement.

It may be necessary to reboot the RNS315 navigation unit, due to either, update programming stalled, or recoding. In order to reboot the unit, hold down the ?power? and ?eject? buttons at the same time until the unit switches ?OFF?. You should see the software screen once the unit powers back up indicating a successful reboot.

For concerns of navigation inaccuracy, with or without antenna fault codes, begin by checking the number of received satellites in the area of the concern. This can be accomplished by following the instruction in Technical Bulletin 2023490 Antenna Diagnosis Overview.
TT911117a2023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Replacement RNS 510 radio/navigation units may be shipped in transportation safeguard mode and therefore will have no sound output. In order to switch the unit out of this mode, hold down the forward seek button, the back seek button, and the music button at the same time until the unit shuts down. Once the unit is powered back ?ON? the safeguard mode will be deactivated.

The Bluetooth module has now been integrated into the navigation head unit on 2012-2013 vehicles with RNS 315 navigation part number 1K0 035 274 B or higher. The diagnosis for this system is similar to the 9W7 system. Technical Bulletin 91 11 09 (2026015) can be used for the diagnosis.
TT9111112023-06-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The RNS 315 navigation unit does not contain the Sirius Traffic functionality. Currently only the RNS 510 navigation unit is capable of this function. These units should not be substituted and the Warranty claim is subject to denial.
TT9111092023-06-13. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. When the Navigation RNS 850/510/315 is in 3D mode, the top portion of the screen may not display streets. This line represents the horizon and is a normal operation of system. No repairs should be made. Examples below of day and night modes
TT9012042023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. After instrument cluster replacement, service interval maximum values may need to be manually set. To set values manually, use Vehicle self-diagnosis to select 17- Instrument Cluster, then adaptation. Channel ?SIA: maximum value of distance to service? should be set to 16000 km and channel ?SIA: maximum value of time to service? should be set to 372 days.
TT9011072023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. The instrument cluster illumination is controlled by a photocell inside the cluster. If an illumination concern is suspected, darken the area over the photocell, or use a flashlight to simulate natural light changes, to see how the illumination is affected. See figure 1 below for example of the photocell location based on a 2011 Jetta sedan. Location can change based on model.
TT8714012023-06-13. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM:COMPRESSOR:MODULE (ACCM). When replacing the Air Conditioning compressor it is necessary to flush the entire system to remove all the PAG oil. Replacement AC compressors come with a full charge of oil. Any time another compressor is installed with a different vendor (Sanden to Denso) it is necessary to replace all the oil in the system to the new vendor type PAG oil.
