Service bulletins for the 2014 Volkswagen Eos

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

950 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

TT1714012023-07-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. A change was made to the engine Oil Filter Adapter (OFA) for 2014 Model Year vehicles that resulted in a change in the oil filter element. TT1712022023-07-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. An oil leak from around the oil drain plug noted after oil change, and/or drain plug replacement, may be caused by installation of incorrect drain plug. Correct part number drain plug is based on the oil pan design as shown below. Original drain plug is 18mm hex for both style oil pans.
TT011401a2023-07-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Install a vacuum gauge on the dipstick tube and check crankcase vacuum at idle. Compare to a known good vehicle. If the vacuum reading is lower than the comparison vehicle, visually inspect for oil leaks between the engine and the transmission. Smoke test the crankcase by connecting the EVAP smoke machine to the dipstick tube and inspect for leaks at the rear main seal (this will limit pressure to 2 PSI). DO NOT apply shop air to the dipstick tube or the crankcase. If a rear main seal leak is identified, replace the seal. Once replaced, recheck crankcase vacuum at idle. If low, check for additional oil leaks and verify crankcase breather operation (repairing as necessary). Erase the faults and road test 10 miles to recheck operation.
