Service bulletins for the 2018 Toyota Sienna

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

ZJC_Dealer Email2019-05-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; ENGINE. Dealer Email: Toyota has received reports about potential symptoms, such as a whine noise from the transmission while driving, harsh shifting, reduced power, and master warning light/check engine light illumination, in the subject vehicles that are equipped with a model UA80 transmission. There is a possibility that a washer tab, designed to prevent the loosening of a nut inside the affected transmissions, was not sufficiently bent during assembly. This could lead to the nut loosening and, over time, lead to the symptoms described above. Although the UA80 transmission equipped in the subject vehicles is covered by Toyota?s New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 5 years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first), we at Toyota care about the customers? ownership experience. Thus, Toyota is providing coverage for repairs related to damage to the UA80 transmission caused by the previously mentioned loose washer tab and resulting in the symptoms described above. The following information is provided to inform you and your staff of the program notification schedule and your degree of involvement.

TT: The blind spot monitor (BSM) sensor angle inspection is used to confirm that the BSM sensor is within the specified angle before performing axis beam adjustment. T-SB-0047-192019-05-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. TSB: Some 2018 ? 2019 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with the Entune? 3.0 Premium Audio Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update; however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 9), and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 2). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the Embedded Navigation Update and provide telematic map services for a period of two years from the day that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. Activation card numbers are provided in an activation card number pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system. Follow the process in this bulletin to perform the update. NOTE Map data is released once each year through the shipment of an SST USB flash drive to each dealer. The SST MUST be stored in the SST cabinet to ensure it can be easily found

Sienna Sliding D2019-04-15. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Dealer Daily Message: Sienna Sliding Door Certain 2011 ? 2018 Model Year Sienna Vehicles ? A court has preliminarily approved a proposed settlement regarding sliding doors on certain 2011-2018 model year Sienna vehicles. ? The proposed settlement has yet to receive final approval by the court. Accordingly, Toyota has decided to implement certain components of the Customer Confidence Program in advance of final approval. These components are listed below and Toyota estimates that they will be available starting in April 2019.1 At that time, Toyota will issue a notice to all dealers advising them that these components have become available. Pursuant to the proposed settlement?s Customer Confidence Program: o Coverage for repairs to the power sliding door cable sub-assembly, sliding door center hinge assembly, and fuel door will be available for 10 years from the subject vehicles date of first use, regardless of mileage. o Warranty Enhancement Program ZH4 will be expanded to include certain 2016 ? 2018 model year Sienna vehicles. o Warranty Enhancement Program ZH5 will be expanded to include certain 2015 ? 2018 model year Sienna vehicles. o Warranty Enhancement Programs ZH4 and ZH5, which are applicable for nine years from the subject vehicles date of first use regardless of mileage, will be extended by one additional year regardless of mileage. ? Use the recommended procedure below to avoid this concern while testing injection mode of FKS equipped vehicles.
