Service bulletins for the 2025 Toyota bZ4X

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

26TH012026-02-11. Other. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Toyota is conducting a noncompliance equipment recall involving certain Rear Combination Lamp service parts for Toyota bZ4X sold from December 2023 to November 2025 in the U.S. Approximately 80 service parts are involved in this recall. The subject rear combination lamp service parts were sold in the U.S. even though they were intended for an overseas market. These parts do not meet a federal safety standard because they have a side marker reflector instead of a side marker lamp. In the absence of light reflecting off the reflector, this can reduce the ability of other road users to identify the rear of the vehicle from the side, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Customer retention and proper maintenance of vehicles are and have always been a major focus for Toyota. To help remind customers that regular service is essential to the proper maintenance of the vehicle, dealers are required to install a service reminder sticker before delivery. By doing this, customers will be reminded to return to your dealership for service. Your current service reminder sticker may be used. (See PDS Check Sheet item 8 of “Final Inspection and Cleaning.”) This bulletin contains the PDS procedures that apply specifically to 2025 model year bZ4X vehicles. Refer to T-SB-0028-24, the universal Check Sheet that contains PDS steps that apply to all 2025 model year Toyota vehicles. To properly perform a complete PDS, you must complete all procedures contained in this TSB as well as the universal PDS Check Sheet.

T-SB-0039-24 Rev22025-01-09. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. The condition known as acid rain is caused by airborne chemicals or particles in the atmosphere, which mix with rainwater, nighttime dew, or high humidity to form acidic compounds. If these contaminants settle and remain on a painted vehicle surface, especially the horizonal areas of the hood, roof, and decklid, significant damage can occur. This damage is the result of actual etching of the paint and appears as pitting or water spots. As acid rain droplets on the vehicle surface evaporate, the concentration strength of the acid increases, causing deeper and more rapid damage. This evaporation and corrosive action also occur more rapidly on dark colored cars as direct sun heat increases. It is the dealer’s responsibility to protect and maintain the quality of the vehicle’s paint finish after receipt at the dealership prior to the first sale. In areas known for high frequency and/or concentration of acid rain, frequent vehicle washing during high heat or humidity periods will minimize the potential for paint damage caused by acid rain. It is further recommended that either reverse osmosis or deionized water be used to prevent water spotting.
