Service bulletins for the 2021 Tesla Model X

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

87 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

This file contains all available owner?s manual content for 2021-2023 Model X vehicles converted to PDF format, and given the distribution method and NHTSA?s submission format requirements, it is the best available representative copy of owner?s manual content. However, a customer who accesses the owner?s manual via their vehicle?s touchscreen would only see the parts of this PDF file that are relevant to their vehicle.
SB23-00-0062023-12-18. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some model year 2021-2023 Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid vehicles running a vehicle software version earlier than 2023.44 may require a vehicle software update to address a mild vibration felt from the accelerator pedal and steering yoke/wheel that may occur during acceleration. This behavior does not affect the operation or safety of the vehicle. The software update adjusts certain motor controls during acceleration that may reduce the vehicle's rated range by up to 2 miles (3.2 km).

On certain Model S and Model X vehicles, the electrical wires for the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) may be subject to abrasion caused by long term vibration cycling. Abrasion between the EPB wires and the backshell may strip the EPB wire insulation, resulting in water ingress or an electrical short.
SB22330012022-05-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC (ASC); POWER TRAIN. Some Model S Palladium and Model X Palladium vehicles were built without a hydraulic control unit (HCU) wake-up line, and in rare circumstances, braking and stability control related alerts may appear on the instrument cluster and touchscreen during the vehicle power-on process. Such faults can typically be corrected and the affected functionality restored with a vehicle power cycle.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
