# Recalls that may apply to the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek

A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

## United States (NHTSA), as of 2026-10-19

- [19V149000](/recalls/nhtsa/19V149000.md), 2019-02-28: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH. Subaru of America, Inc. \(Subaru\) is recalling certain 2014\-2016 Forester, 2008\-2016 Impreza sedans, 2012\-2016 Impreza station wagons, 2008\-2014 WRX sedans \(including STI\), and 2013\-2017 Crosstrek vehicles. Exposure to certain contaminants may cause the brake light switch to malfunction, preventing the brake lights from illuminating and also preventing keyless ignition vehicles from starting and CVT/automatic transmissions from being able to be shifted out of Park. Built 2012\-05\-17 to 2017\-06\-13.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2024546](/recalls/tc/2024546.md), 2024-08-15: Label. Issue: On certain vehicles, the compliance label may be missing information in French. The words listed on the label for "Tires", "Rims", "Front" and "Rear" appear in English only, when they should be listed as "Tires/Pneus", "Rims/Jantes", "Front/Avant" and "Rear/Arriere". Canadian regulations require this information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: These small errors do not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Subaru has corrected the compliance label for all new vehicles.
