- [26V176000](/recalls/nhtsa/26V176000.md), 2026-03-23: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:SWITCHES/KNOBS/BUTTONS. Daimler Coaches North America \(Daimler Coaches\) is recalling certain 2009\-2020 Setra S417 and 2012\-2019 Setra S407 vehicles. The switches for the hazard warning lights, defroster, heating and air conditioning system, and fan speed may fail to illuminate correctly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard \(FMVSS\) number 101, "Control and Displays." Built from 2009\-05\-19.
- [21V469000](/recalls/nhtsa/21V469000.md), 2021-06-23: STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS. Daimler Coaches North America \(Daimler Coaches\) is recalling certain 2009\-2020 Setra S417 and 2012\-2019 Setra S407 vehicles.  The hinge on the engine compartment flap may crack, which could result in the flap detaching from the vehicle. Built from 2009\-09\-30.

The doorway strip that prevents a pinch injury from the outward swiveling entry door may not function properly. Built 2005\-12\-01 to 2010\-11\-01.

Setra of North America \(Setra\) is recalling certain model year 2005\-2009 S417 coaches manufactured March 1, 2005, to February 28, 2009, that had service part lower control arm\(s\) installed.  The hot crimping that connects the tube ends to the control arm joint housing shafts may crack, causing the tube to separate from the shaft. Built 2005\-03\-01 to 2009\-02\-28.

Setra of North America \(Setra\) is recalling certain model year 2012 S407 CC, 2007\-2010 S417, and 2011\-2013 S417 TC coaches equipped with Sure Power battery equalizers or DC\-DC converters containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound.  The specific potting compound used in the subject products for insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat. Built 2008\-06\-01 to 2009\-06\-30.

Setra is recalling certain model year 2009\-2013 S417, S417TC, and S407CC motorcoaches, manufactured from May 2009 through June 2012.  An incorrect routing of the ground wire near the alternator may lead to the chaffing and abrasion of the wire.

THE PARTITION GLASS BEHIND THE DRIVER OF EACH AFFECTED BUS DOES NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY DOT MARKINGS AS SPECIFIED AND WAS NOT MARKED CORRECTLY.

THESE MOTOR COACHES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 217, "BUS EMERGENCY EXITS AND WINDOW RETENTION AND RELEASE."  WHEN A RELEASE MECHANISM IS NOT LOCATED WITHIN AN OCCUPANT SPACE OF AN ADJACENT SEAT, A LABEL MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF S5.5.2 THAT INDICATES THE LOCATION OF THE NEAREST RELEASE MECHANISM SHALL BE PLACED WITHIN THE OCCUPANT SPACE.  EXAMPLE: "EMERGENCY EXIT INSTRUCTIONS LOCATED NEXT TO SEAT AHEAD" THESE LABELS ARE NOT INSTALLED IN THE MOTOR COACHES MENTIONED IN THE EXAMPLE ABOVE. Built 2002\-09\-01 to 2009\-12\-31.

- [2026243](/recalls/tc/2026243.md), 2026-05-19: Lights And Instruments. Issue: On a small number of buses, the switches for the hazard warning lights, windshield defroster/defogger and fan speed may not meet the requirements of Canadian regulations. As a result, you may not be able to see the control switches in low light conditions.  Safety Risk: Switches that are difficult to see could increase the risk of a crash.  Corrective Actions: Daimler Coaches North America will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to replace the hazard warning lights switch.
- [2018089](/recalls/tc/2018089.md), 2018-02-14: Accessories. On certain motorcoaches, the anti\-entrapment strip of the pneumatic outward swivelling entry door may not function after door actuation. As a result, a passenger could get pinched when the door is closing which could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will retrofit a bridging cable to the door control unit to prevent the deactivation of the anti\-entrapment feature.

On certain coaches equipped with Sure Power battery equalizers and/or convertors, the equalizer and/or convertor could develop an internal short circuit, resulting in a risk of overheating, smoke and/or fire. This may result in property damage and/or personal injury.  Correction: Owners will be supplied with replacement parts and instructions on how to affect repairs. Alternatively, the manufacturer may carry out on\-site repairs.

On certain vehicles, the partition glass behind the driver does not have the necessary markings as specified in Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 205 \- Glazing Materials.  Correction: New partition glass with the correct markings will be provided.
- [2009033](/recalls/tc/2009033.md), 2009-02-02: Label. Certain buses fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 217 \- Bus Window Retention, Release and Emergency Exits.  Specifically, bilingual labels indicating the location of the nearest emergency exit were omitted during vehicle assembly.  Correction: Owners will be provided with labels and installation instructions.
