Service bulletins for the 2016 Porsche Panamera
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Remedial Action: In the event of a customer complaint, use PIWIS Tester III with software 36.400.020 (or higher) installed to: ? re-program and code the Tiptronic control unit via "Automatic programming" and ? reset the adaptation values. |
| 122-A6Z3V-03 | 2018-03-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). Subject: Intake valves and intake ports Information: Carboned-up valves in the engine can be reworked and cleaned using cleaning equipment. If there is a complaint about knocking combustion, e.g. during acceleration at high load, the condition of the intake valves and portsmust be checked before doing any other work. If the check shows that the intake valves and intake ports have carbon deposits and are dirty, they must be cleaned using the VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit. There should be no need to replace the components. Date of Introduction: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit can be ordered immediately for dealers. Remedial Action: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit is used for cleaning carboned-up intake valves and intake ports. Compressed air is used to spray a special granulatemixture into the intake port, where it loosens and removes carbon build-up. The dirty granulate is extracted during spraying using an industrial vacuum cleaner. |
| 122-X4D4A-09 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The unwarranted errormessages "Hybrid system fault" and "Reduced engine power" can appear sporadically in the instrument cluster on the affected vehicles under certain driving conditions because the diagnostic function for the hybrid decoupler is too sensitive. If this happens, engine power will be reduced and the Check Engine light will be activated until the ignition is switched off and on again. |
| 122-D4S3S-01 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Concern: On vehicles with a conventional drive system, the fuel that gets into the engine oil is evaporated by the high operating temperatures of the combustion engine. However, this fuelmight not evaporate fully due to the comparably low temperatures of the engine in hybrid mode on the affected vehicles. If the combustion engine does not reach a higher operating temperature for a long time, e.g. during frequent short trips, this can cause the oil level to increase to such an extent that the oil level measurement will activate the warning message "Oil level above maximum" in the instrument cluster. However, the functional properties of the engine oil are always guaranteed. |
| 122-T7Y5Q-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Information: This document updates information previously published in EQ 1105, EQ 1105, and EQ 1401. To provide stable voltage and sufficient current throughout certain service operations, you should connect the vehicle to a battery charger (sometimes referred to as a power supply). However, you may experience ECU programming and coding issues if the chosen battery charger has insufficient power. Many workshop manuals currently advise use of a battery charger with a 40 or 70 A current rating. However, with the increasing current requirements of modern Porsche vehicles, we recommend a battery charger capable of producing a minimum current of 90 A. |
| 122-F3H8X-11 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Subject: Air-conditioning system function Situation: Customers complain that the air conditioning does not function at times or after starting it. The air conditioning does not turn on or is turned off if the state of charge of the high-voltage battery is very low and also if the battery is not sufficiently charged while driving. |
| 122-N9F6H-01 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Information: The customer complains that certain functions of the front camera are not available at times: * Lane Change Assist not available * Porsche Dynamic Light System not available * Traffic sign recognition not available Cause: Image sensor fault in the front camera. Insufficient contrast causes certain functions to fail at times. |
| 122-G7Y7R-01 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS. Vehicle Data Label Vehicle identification label is on the inside of the maintenance book. | 122-P6P7K-10 | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. There is increased friction in the air spring compressor valves at temperatures below ?13° F (?25° C). This can result in a situation in which the maximum control current is not sufficient to actuate the valves. As a result, a warning message will be displayed in the instrument cluster and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) will stop working temporarily. Re-program PASM control unit using the PIWIS Tester with software version 33.010.030 (PIWIS Tester 3) or version 17.100.030 (PIWIS Tester II) or a higher software version installed. |
| 122-L4X2R-10 | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. There is a possibility that the function of the change-over valve for the sport exhaust system can fail as a result of water leaking in and causing corrosion. If this happens, the mode that was activated last will remain active. It will no longer be possible to switch between Sport and Normal mode in this case.In the event of a customer complaint or spare parts requirements for the change-over valve, the change-over valve and several individual components must be replaced - until such a time as the change-over valve becomes available as a repair kit, |
