Service bulletins for the 2017 Porsche Cayenne

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

122-K6T9F-012020-01-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Instructions for performing "Guided Fault Finding" in the event that "Hybrid system failure" messages appear in instrument cluster of the affected vehicles.
122-Y5B4K-012020-01-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Additional information for repairing the cylinder head cover near the injector holes if there are leaks.
122-U2G9J-122019-12-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Repair instructions for Timing chain repair. If an oil leak is identified from the timing chain cover and it has been found that any part on the timing cover has failed, then the engine must be removed and the entire timing chain cover resealed per the WM instructions.
122-G2B4B-112019-11-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. List of approved A40 engine oils for Porsche vehicles.
122-D2B8P-102019-10-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Instructions for what course of action to take if the customer should complain about oil leaks from the transfer case
122-W5C2W-082019-08-12. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Information about possible engine knocking and how to clean carbon deposits is they are dirty and causing knocking.
122-X2X7N-072019-07-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Notice to dealers that coolants will be moved out of the special tool cabinet in the dealer service department in order to make room for new special tools. All coolant tools will be moved to the "Coolant Cart" because they need to be housed in the same place.
122-K8J3T-042019-04-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. There is cast residue in the cylinder head cover sealing groove, causing the injector holes to leak.
122-X3H4Z-102018-10-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE); ENGINE. Cause: Clicking noises can come from around the transfer case when manoeuvring the vehicle (or driving slowly) due to activation of the transfer case servo motor. Remedial action: Before doing any other work, the symptommust be simulated using a test procedure. (Opening the door windows can be helpful when evaluating noises). 1 Conditions for the first test procedure: ? Activate the Start/Stop function and ? deactivate all sources of noise in the vehicle (Entertainment, ventilation, etc.). ? A multi-storey parking garage can be useful for acoustic reverberation. ? Onastraight stretch ? fromspeeds less than 10mph (20 km/h) ? brake the vehicle to a standstill. ? The best way of finding the clicking noise is by driving slowly and then stopping the vehicle.
122-P7P6D-082018-08-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Technical Background The issue is caused by incomplete cutting of the drain flap at the parts supplier. When the flap is not cut all the way back, it is not able to open fully. The drain will clog.
122-R9H5B-072018-08-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Concerns: Belt tensioner Information: Checking belt tensioner in the event of a complaint about "leaks" before carrying out any other work.

122-A6Z3V-032018-03-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). Subject: Intake valves and intake ports Information: Carboned-up valves in the engine can be reworked and cleaned using cleaning equipment. If there is a complaint about knocking combustion, e.g. during acceleration at high load, the condition of the intake valves and portsmust be checked before doing any other work. If the check shows that the intake valves and intake ports have carbon deposits and are dirty, they must be cleaned using the VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit. There should be no need to replace the components. Date of Introduction: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit can be ordered immediately for dealers. Remedial Action: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit is used for cleaning carboned-up intake valves and intake ports. Compressed air is used to spray a special granulatemixture into the intake port, where it loosens and removes carbon build-up. The dirty granulate is extracted during spraying using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
