Service bulletins for the 2014 Porsche Cayenne

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

521 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

122-X2X7N-072019-07-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Notice to dealers that coolants will be moved out of the special tool cabinet in the dealer service department in order to make room for new special tools. All coolant tools will be moved to the "Coolant Cart" because they need to be housed in the same place.
122-T8Y6E-062019-06-24. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. Instructions for setting the ready status for catalytic converters on Cayenne Diesel vehicles, since there is some difficulty in setting the status when the vehicle is finished having emissions related repairs and is ready to leave the Service Department.
122-X3H4Z-102018-10-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE); ENGINE. Cause: Clicking noises can come from around the transfer case when manoeuvring the vehicle (or driving slowly) due to activation of the transfer case servo motor. Remedial action: Before doing any other work, the symptommust be simulated using a test procedure. (Opening the door windows can be helpful when evaluating noises). 1 Conditions for the first test procedure: ? Activate the Start/Stop function and ? deactivate all sources of noise in the vehicle (Entertainment, ventilation, etc.). ? A multi-storey parking garage can be useful for acoustic reverberation. ? Onastraight stretch ? fromspeeds less than 10mph (20 km/h) ? brake the vehicle to a standstill. ? The best way of finding the clicking noise is by driving slowly and then stopping the vehicle.
122-P2Q5Z-102018-10-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL. Subject: Documentation of the implementation of AG01 Emissions Recall in the IN-FORM tool Information: The implementation of campaign "AG01 Emissions Recall" was not documented fully according to specifications in the IN-FORM tool on the affected vehicles.
122-P7P6D-082018-08-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Technical Background The issue is caused by incomplete cutting of the drain flap at the parts supplier. When the flap is not cut all the way back, it is not able to open fully. The drain will clog.
122-R9H5B-072018-08-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Concerns: Belt tensioner Information: Checking belt tensioner in the event of a complaint about "leaks" before carrying out any other work.
122-P5G7U-072018-08-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING; ENGINE. Oil in the wiring harness. If oil is found in the engine wiring harness during a repair, the wiring harness and all the affected components (including the oil pump control valve) must be replaced.
122-R9H5B-072018-07-30. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Concerns: Belt tensioner Information: Checking belt tensioner in the event of a complaint about "leaks" before carrying out any other work.
122-A6Z3V-032018-03-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). Subject: Intake valves and intake ports Information: Carboned-up valves in the engine can be reworked and cleaned using cleaning equipment. If there is a complaint about knocking combustion, e.g. during acceleration at high load, the condition of the intake valves and portsmust be checked before doing any other work. If the check shows that the intake valves and intake ports have carbon deposits and are dirty, they must be cleaned using the VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit. There should be no need to replace the components. Date of Introduction: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit can be ordered immediately for dealers. Remedial Action: The VAS 294 011 - cleaning unit is used for cleaning carboned-up intake valves and intake ports. Compressed air is used to spray a special granulatemixture into the intake port, where it loosens and removes carbon build-up. The dirty granulate is extracted during spraying using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
122-J4H9M-122017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ENGINE. Situation: Cayenne Diesel vehicles were equipped with undisclosed Auxiliary Emission Control Devices which are not permitted by emissions regulations. Action Required: Install updated engine control module (DME) software, transmission control module (Tiptronic) software and hardware to bring affected vehicles into regulatory compliance.
122-L6Q4X-012017-12-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Symptom: The engine will not start at times and the fault code P0607 Control unit faulty is stored in the fault memory. Cause: The DME control unit can become damaged via the electric wires as a result of electrostatic discharge of the throttle housing. Date of Introduction: The optimized throttle housing with insulation has been installed during production since August 24, 2016.
122-D2Y3E-012017-12-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. The turbocharger is damaged by detached parts of the cracked inner part of the manifold. A faulty turbocharger is diagnosed due to loss of power and when the "Check Engine" warning is activated. However, a faulty turbocharger can also be diagnosed if the inner part of the manifold is damaged.
122-Q5N4V-102017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Reworking Connector on Engine Coolant Level Sensor for Low-temperature Cooling System (Red "engine coolant level" warning message in the instrument cluster/SY2215)? Contact problems with the installed plug contacts in the connector for the engine coolant level sensor on the coolant reservoir (low-temperature cooling system). ? Fluctuations in resistance in the signal chain between the rear-end electronics control unit and the line at the engine coolant level sensor connector (low-temperature cooling system). ? No corresponding fault code is entered in the rear-end electronics control unit fault memory.
122-T9Z8L-122017-10-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE. The following procedure is recommended to ensure that the engine oil level is correct. By following this procedure, the engine oil level display will be displayed as completely full. If the engine oil is filled beyond this level, the warning for ?Above Max? may be displayed intermittently under certain operating conditions.

122-X3H2P-062017-09-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Concerns: Cylinder head Information: This is to inform you of a Stop Sale Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. Routine tests carried out previously have shown that the cylinder head on the engines on the affected vehicles do not meet the required specifications and there is a possibility that the long-term durability required by Porsche will not be met.
122-K2P3H-062017-09-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. Concerns: Spring band clamp on coolant reservoir Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. There is a possibility that two spring band clamps with too large a diameter were installed on a breather hose for the engine cooling system reservoir. The inadequate pre-tension force of the spring band clamps can result in a small amount of coolant leaking out when the vehicle is driven.
