Service bulletins for the 2016 Porsche 911
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 122-Y9K4F-09 | 2018-11-19. Service bulletin. WHEELS. Symptom: During and after race track use, loud noises can sometimes come from the wheel assembly on the rear axle - particularly on bends. Cause: Particles of dirt on the contact surfaces can cause micro-movements in the wheel assembly on the rear axle (rim/brake disc/wheel hub) and this can result in loud noises. Remedial Action: In the event of a customer complaint, clean the wheel assembly on the rear axle as described under "Work Procedure". |
| 122-D7K9V-09 | 2018-11-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Complaint - Incorrect Allocation of Fault Code (P0153/P0133) for Oxygen Sensor (upstream of Catalytic Converter): Replacing both oxygen sensors (upstreamof catalytic converter) (89/18) |

| 122-F8Y6M-07 | 2018-08-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS; STRUCTURE. Customer Concern Customer complains that the top does not open. Technical Background Adjustment of the top may cause its movement to be slower than the control unit expects. If the control unit does not see a changing signal from the rotation angle sensor within 3 seconds of the pump activation, FC 000042 may be set. Internal or external leaks in the system can also cause the issue (Internal check valve, lines, rams). |

| 122-U5W3W-09 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. If the front brake caliper needs to be replaced, new part numbers are available. This should reduce the number of spare parts variants. Once existing inventory has been used up, order only the new parts numbers. |
| 122-M9M8G-09 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. The vacuum line can slip off the control box as a result of component tolerances of the clamp. In the event of a customer complaint, check that the vacuum line is fitted securely on the control box at the left and right. ? If the vacuum line is fitted securely on the control box, the fault is not related to the cause described here. Find the cause of the fault and correct it. Invoice for Scope 1. ? If the vacuum line has slipped off the control box, the electric change-over valve can be contaminated by drawing in dirt. Replace electric change-over valve, blow out any dirt in the vacuum line using compressed air and secure the vacuum line to the control box using a new clamp. |
| 122-F3A8L-09 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This campaign includes steps where control unit(s) in the vehicle will be programmed with the PIWIS Tester. The vehicle voltage must be maintained between 13.5 volts and 14.5 volts during this programming. Failure to maintain this voltage could result in damaged control unit(s). Damage caused by inadequate voltage during programming is not a warrantable defect. The technician must verify the actual vehicle voltage in the PIWIS Tester before starting the campaign and also document the actual voltage on the repair order. Please refer to Equipment Information EQ1401 for a list of suitable battery chargers/power supplies which should be used to maintain vehicle voltage. Due to a software error in the gateway control unit, the optional lightweight battery (lithium-ion battery) - if installed in the vehicle - will not charge using the Porsche Charge-o-mat Pro charger when this is used via the cigarette lighter or 12-volt plug socket in the vehicle. As a result, the lightweight battery can go flat if the vehicle is parked up for a long time. The charging function works, however, if the charger is connected directly to the vehicle battery using the optional clamp adapter. |
| 122-D4G7E-09 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. There is a possibility that a gear synchronization component in the PDK transmission does not comply with the specified dimensions on the affected vehicles. This can result in noises after a gear change while driving. Continued use of the vehicle can cause the PDK transmission to switch to the reduced driving program and a corresponding warning will be displayed in the instrument cluster. |
| 122-T7Y5Q-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Information: This document updates information previously published in EQ 1105, EQ 1105, and EQ 1401. To provide stable voltage and sufficient current throughout certain service operations, you should connect the vehicle to a battery charger (sometimes referred to as a power supply). However, you may experience ECU programming and coding issues if the chosen battery charger has insufficient power. Many workshop manuals currently advise use of a battery charger with a 40 or 70 A current rating. However, with the increasing current requirements of modern Porsche vehicles, we recommend a battery charger capable of producing a minimum current of 90 A. |
| 122-S2Z5A-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. TIRES. Information: Summary tables with applicable notes on Ultra High Performance (UHP) tires for easy reference is supplied in this bulletin. |
| 122-T8T7L-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY. Subject: Bleeder screw for front axle lift system Situation: There is a possibility that the bleeder screw for the front axle lift system was not tightened to the prescribed tightening torque on the affected vehicles. This can impair the function of the lift system. The error message "Error lift system" can then be displayed in the instrument cluster when the lift function is activated. |
