Service bulletins for the 2014 Porsche 911

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

122-N9Z4L-072017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Concerns: AGM starter battery (referred to below simply as 'battery') Situation: Support for the care andmaintenance of the AGMstarter battery (at the dealership): From the time the vehicle is delivered to the Porsche Centre until it is handed over to the customer, the battery must be maintained and charged regularly, depending on use.
122-R7W2C-072017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Concerns: AGM starter battery (referred to below simply as ?battery?) Situation: Customer complaints concerning battery-related topics Recurring customer complaints concerning topics relating to battery capacity and quality.
122-B5A3X-112017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. On vehicles with low mileage, driven infrequently, or solely on short trips, the warning message "Oil pressure too low" can appear in the multi-function display when the engine is idling. Fuel and water in the oil can cause the control piston to swell. Remedial action involves carrying out the following test instructions during the PDI, or in the event of a customer complaint of the error message "Oil pressure too low" being displayed.
122-W4G8S-102017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Technical Concern: By design, the vehicle gateway allows certain vehicle features to time-out, in stages. This allows the vehicle to sleep. One feature that can time-out is the 12 V DC power point (cigarette lighter) in the center console area. One of the recommended methods of using the battery maintainer is to plug the battery maintainer into this power point. If this power point becomes disabled, it will not allow current flow from the battery maintainer to the vehicle, the vehicle battery will not trickle charge, and the battery maintainer will eventually shut off.
122-G7H3U-062017-09-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Concerns: Instrument cluster Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. The following fault symptoms can occur on the affected vehicles due to a software error in the instrument cluster: * Failure of the display on the multi-function display: The display on the multi-function display in the instrument cluster can stop working at times under certain conditions. The display starts working again after a certain time. * Implausible service reminder indicator display: The driver is informed that a service (maintenance, intermediate maintenance or oil service) is due although the mileage and date for a required service have not yet been reached.
122-Y9X5V-062017-09-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Concerns: Control unit for Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. Due to a software error in the control unit for Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), there is a possibility that an unauthorized fault code will be stored in the control unit under certain ambient conditions. This can cause the error message "PDCC failure" to be displayed in the instrument cluster and the PDCC function will no longer be available.
122-N5B2J-062017-09-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Concerns: Rear-end electronics control unit Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. A new data record for the rear-end electronics control unit has been used during series production. By modifying the way in which the front spoiler is activated in Performance position, the aerodynamic behaviour of the vehicle is further improved when the convertible top is open.
122-M6M5Z-062017-09-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:HORN. Concerns: Horn (also referred to as fanfare) Information: Modified assignment of connector contacts due to installation of new type of horn. As a result, if the horn needs to be replaced, an adapter cable must also be installed.
122-F6S7N-052017-09-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Concerns: Symbol for the engine warm-up phase in the instrument cluster Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. Due to an error in the PIWIS Tester II software versions 14.600 to 14.900, the symbol for the warm-up phase is no longer activated on themulti-function display after coding the instrument cluster on the 991 GT3.
122-K7S2R-052017-09-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:TRANSFER CASE (4-WHEEL DRIVE); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Concerns: Control unit for all-wheel drive system Porsche Traction Management (PTM) Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. The affected vehicles were fitted with a control unit for the all-wheel drive system in which a purging routine for the hydraulic pump drive for the multiplate clutch is not activated due to an error in the control unit software. This can cause wear particles to clog up the hydraulic pump drive over the service life of the vehicle, resulting in higher power consumption for the pump drive. As a result, the all-wheel drive system will be deactivated and the warning message "No all-wheel sys. " Only rear-wh drive" Adapted driving permitted" will be displayed in the instrument cluster.
122-D6U5E-062017-08-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Concerns: PDK control unit Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. A shift rod movement at a shift gate that was not selected can be detected incorrectly on the affected vehicles due to a software error. As a result, fault code "P1767 - Hydraulic multiplexer fault" can be stored in the fault memory of the PDK control unit and the PDK transmission can switch to the reduced driving programme until the ignition is switched off and on again.
122-G7E5R-062017-08-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Concerns: PDK transmission Information: There is a possibility of moisture condensing in the vent line of the PDK transmission under certain environmental influences and getting into the inside of the PDK transmission through the ventilation connections. The transmission oil/water emulsion created as a result of this is deposited on the inner contacts of the multiple plug connection for the PDK transmission and causes electric shunt circuits there. If this happens, the PDK transmission can malfunction, e.g. switch to the reduced driving program (limp-home mode).
TI-59-142014-11-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
