# Recalls that may apply to the 2005 Nissan Sentra

A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

## United States (NHTSA), as of 2026-10-19

- [20V747000](/recalls/nhtsa/20V747000.md), 2020-12-01: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE; AIR BAGS. Nissan North America, Inc. \(Nissan\) is recalling certain 2002\-2006 Sentra vehicles whose passenger air bags were previously inspected and may have been released without replacing the Takata air bag inflator. In the event of a crash, Takata frontal passenger air bag inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long\-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling. **NHTSA advises: do not drive until the repair is done.**
- [20V008000](/recalls/nhtsa/20V008000.md), 2020-01-09: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE. Nissan North America, Inc. \(Nissan\) is recalling certain 2001\-2003 Maxima, 2002\-2006 Sentra, 2002\-2004 Pathfinder, 2007\-2011 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback, 2001\-2004 Infiniti I30 and I35, 2002\-2003 Inifiniti QX4, 2003\-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 and 2006\-2010 M35 and M45 vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with non\-desiccated, frontal passenger air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate \(PSAN\) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long\-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
- [15V287000](/recalls/nhtsa/15V287000.md), 2015-05-15: AIR BAGS. Nissan North America, Inc. \(Nissan\) is recalling certain model year 2001\-2003 Nissan Maxima, 2002\-2004 Pathfinder, 2002\-2006 Sentra, 2002\-2003 Infiniti QX4 and I35, 2003 FX35 and FX45, and 2001 I30 vehicles. Upon deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture. Built 2001\-07\-30 to 2006\-08\-26.
- [07V527000](/recalls/nhtsa/07V527000.md), 2007-11-14: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE, THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CAN OVERHEAT CAUSING A BRIEF INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL OUTPUT FROM THE SENSOR. Built 2004\-07\-13 to 2006\-07\-29.
- [05V269000](/recalls/nhtsa/05V269000.md), 2005-06-07: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, A VAPOR HOSE LOCATED IN THE FUEL TANK MAY NOT HAVE BEEN FORMED CORRECTLY DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED WITH A FULL FUEL TANK, FUEL MAY FLOW INTO THE VAPOR HOSE, WHICH IS CONNECTED TO A VAPOR CANISTER. Built 2004\-11\-03 to 2005\-03\-07.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2020590](/recalls/tc/2020590.md), 2020-12-02: Airbag. Issue: This recall is for certain vehicles that had an airbag inflator inspection as a part of Transport Canada Recall No. 2015\-210, but the airbag inflator was not replaced. This recall will re\-inspect the airbag inflator and provides a replacement of the inflator, if needed. Long\-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger\-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the passenger\-front airbag inflator. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.
- [2020003](/recalls/tc/2020003.md), 2020-01-10: Airbag. Issue: This recall is for certain vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced as a part of an earlier recall campaign. This recall provides a final repair. Corrective Actions: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the passenger\-front airbag inflator. The passenger\-front airbag module or inflator will be replaced as necessary. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.
- [2015210](/recalls/tc/2015210.md), 2015-05-15: Airbag. On certain vehicles, the passenger \(frontal\) airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the passenger airbag to fully deploy during a crash \(where deployment is warranted\) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the passenger airbag inflator. Note: This is an expansion of recalls 2013117 and 2014566.
- [2007364](/recalls/tc/2007364.md), 2007-11-13: Engine. On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.5L engine, the crank angle sensor can malfunction causing the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the Electronic Control Module \(ECM\) to prevent stalling.
- [2005170](/recalls/tc/2005170.md), 2005-06-06: Fuel System. On certain vehicles, a vapour hose located in the fuel tank was not formed correctly, resulting in the inner surface of the hose not being round. This could result in a gap between the hose and a connector tube. When the fuel level in the tank is full and above the joint area between the vapour hose and a connector tube, fuel may flow into the vapour hose through the gap and reach the vapour canister. If the amount of fuel flowing into the vapour canister exceeds its capacity, the excess fuel will be discharged onto the ground. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will test the vapour hose connections and, if required, replace the fuel tank.
