THE INTAKE AIR DUCTS, WHICH ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERMEDIATE RESONATOR IN THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM OF THE ENGINE, MAY SEPARATE FROM THE RESONATOR WITH ENGINE MOVEMENT. THIS SEPARATION OCCURS DUE TO THE PREMATURE AGING OF THE MATERIAL USED IN THE INTAKE AIR DUCTS WHICH CAUSES EXCESSIVE SHRINKING. Built 2002\-04\-08 to 2007\-10\-26.

CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 114, "THEFT PROTECTION." DURING AN INSPECTION OF SOME VEHICLES AT THE ASSEMBLY PLANT, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED WITH THE IGNITION KNOB IN THE "OFF" POSITION BUT THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION NOT BEING IN THE "PARK" POSITION. ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE FORWARD EDGE OF THE FUEL TANK, IN THE EVENT THAT A VEHICLE FRONT TIRE RUNS OVER A SMALL, SHARP OBJECT IN THE ROAD, CATCHES IT AND PROPELS IT TOWARDS THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, IT MAY STRIKE AND PUNCTURE THE FUEL TANK. - [2009153](/recalls/tc/2009153.md), 2009-05-28: Engine. On certain vehicles, the intake air ducts, which are connected to the intermediate resonator in the air intake system of the engine, may separate from the resonator with engine movement.  This separation occurs due to the premature ageing of the material used in the intake air ducts which causes excessive shrinking.  If the air duct pulls off the resonator, the airflow meter will not accurately measure the intake airflow rate, which could result in unstable idling, poor acceleration, or engine stalling.  Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash.  Correction: Dealers will replace the intake air duct with an updated version.
- [2006272](/recalls/tc/2006272.md), 2006-10-19: Other. Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 114 \- Locking and Immobilization Systems.  The steering wheel lock may engage with the ignition in the "OFF" position, even if the transmission is out of the "PARK" position.  Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the steering wheel lock assembly.
- [2006039](/recalls/tc/2006039.md), 2006-02-13: Seats And Restraints. On certain vehicles, the webbing of a rear outboard seat belt may contact the rear seat back hinge where it can be cut by the sharp edge of the metal portion of the hinge during a frontal crash.   As a result, the seat belt may not properly restrain seat occupants, increasing the risk of personal injury.  Correction: Dealers will install a plastic cover over the lower part of the webbing and the floor anchor.
- [2006004](/recalls/tc/2006004.md), 2006-01-06: Fuel System. On certain vehicles, the fuel tank may be punctured by road debris that has been picked up and thrown by the front tires.  A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.  Correction: Dealers will install a shield in front of the fuel tank.
