NORMAL HEAT EMANATING FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE MAY CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT LINKAGE TO DEFORM. THE EFFORT REQUIRED TO OPERATE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT CONTROL LEVER MAY INCREASE IF THE LINKAGE BINDS DUE TO THE DEFORMATION. Built 2000\-06\-15 to 2004\-01\-12.
- [07V138000](/recalls/nhtsa/07V138000.md), 2007-03-26: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE CYLINDER HEAD IDLER GEAR BUSHING MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY MACHINED, CAUSING EXCESSIVE STRESS ON THE CYLINDER HEAD IDLER GEAR SHAFT. CONTINUED OPERATING IN THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE IDLER GEAR SHAFT FLANGE TO BREAK AND GENERATE ABNORMAL ENGINE NOISE OR ENGINE OIL LEAKS. Built 2000\-06\-29 to 2004\-01\-12.
- [05V451000](/recalls/nhtsa/05V451000.md), 2005-10-04: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. ON CERTAIN MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS, THE CYLINDER HEAD IDLER GEAR SHAFT BOLT MAY HAVE BEEN INSUFFICIENTLY TIGHTENED DURING INITIAL ASSEMBLY. CONTINUED OPERATION IN THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE BOLT TO LOOSEN, RESULTING IN ABNORMAL NOISE FROM IMPROPER GEAR ALIGNMENT. Built 2000\-06\-15 to 2002\-12\-18.
- [05V304000](/recalls/nhtsa/05V304000.md), 2005-06-29: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT. ON CERTAIN MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS, RUST BUILD\-UP ON THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION \(A/T\) SHIFT LINKAGE MAY CAUSE THE LINKAGE TO BIND. RUST BUILD\-UP IS ACCELERATED IN GEOGRAPHIC LOCATIONS THAT ARE SITUATED NEAR LARGE BODIES OF SALT WATER, OR IN REGIONS WITH HEAVY SNOW/ICE MELTING COMPOUND USAGE IN WINTER MONTHS. Built 2000\-06\-15 to 2004\-01\-12.
- [05V303000](/recalls/nhtsa/05V303000.md), 2005-06-29: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. ON CERTAIN MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS, THE REAR ENGINE SUPPORT BRACKET IS COMPOSED OF MATERIALS OF INSUFFICIENT STRENGTH. NORMAL VEHICLE VIBRATIONS MAY CAUSE THE BRACKET TO CRACK. Built 2000\-06\-15 to 2004\-01\-12.
- [04V570000](/recalls/nhtsa/04V570000.md), 2004-12-03: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE RUBBER PORTION OF THE FUEL INJECTION PIPE CLAMPS COULD DETERIORATE. NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION COULD CAUSE THE DETERIORATED CLAMP TO LOOSEN AND DRIP. Built 2000\-06\-15 to 2003\-07\-02.

## Canada (Transport Canada), as of 2026-10-19

- [2008172](/recalls/tc/2008172.md), 2008-05-15: Engine. On certain vehicles, normal heat emanating from the exhaust pipe may cause the shift linkage installed as part of campaign 2005194 \(C1003610\) to bind. As a result, the effort required to operate the automatic transmission shift control lever may increase. In the worst case, the shift control lever may become inoperative, or the transmission gear position indicated on the shift lever housing may not match the actual gear selection at the transmission. Correction: Dealers will install a modified shift control lever assembly.
- [2007097](/recalls/tc/2007097.md), 2007-03-22: Engine. On certain trucks, the cylinder head idler gear bushing may have been improperly machined, causing excessive stress on the cylinder head idler gear shaft. Continued operation in this condition could cause the idler gear shaft flange to break and generate abnormal engine noise and/or engine oil leaks. In the worst case, the engine could stall and would not restart. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the idler gear and bushing assembly.
- [2005291](/recalls/tc/2005291.md), 2005-10-05: Engine. On certain vehicles, the cylinder head idler gear shaft bolt may have been insufficiently tightened during vehicle assembly. Continued operation in this condition could cause the bolt to loosen, resulting in abnormal noise from improper gear alignment. In the worst case, the bolt could break, causing the engine to stall and not restart. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, tighten the idler shaft bolt to specifications.
- [2005195](/recalls/tc/2005195.md), 2005-06-29: Engine. On certain vehicles, the rear engine support bracket is composed of materials of insufficient strength. Normal vehicle vibrations may cause the bracket to crack. If the vehicle is continually operated in this condition, the bracket may break apart. In the worst case, the transmission could drop out of alignment with the driver train. Correction: Dealers will install a modified rear engine support bracket.
- [2005194](/recalls/tc/2005194.md), 2005-06-29: Powertrain. On certain vehicles, rust build\-up on the automatic transmission shift linkage, due to an insufficient corrosion inhibiting ability, may cause the linkage the bind. As a result, the effort required to operate the shift control lever may increase. In the worst case, the shift control lever may become inoperative, or the transmission gear position indicated on the shift lever housing may not match the actual gear selection at the transmission. Correction: Dealers will install a modified shift control lever assembly. Note: This recall is superseded by recall 2008172.
- [2004362](/recalls/tc/2004362.md), 2004-10-01: Fuel System. On certain vehicles, the rubber portion of the fuel injection pipe clamps could deteriorate. Normal vehicle operation could cause the deteriorated clamp to loosen and drop. If this condition occurs in the area of the fuel injection pump, the engine starter could short circuit if the clamp drops onto the starter terminal. This could prevent the engine from starting. In the worst case, excessive heat from the short circuit could cause a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the outer portion of each of the four fuel injection pipe clamps.
- [2002033](/recalls/tc/2002033.md), 2002-02-27: Brakes. Certain heavy\-duty trucks. The vacuum pump shaft breaks due to insufficient heat treatment. If the shaft breaks, braking distance would be extended due to the lack of brake booster function, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the vacuum pump shaft assembly.
